Will Power
0 bird(s) chirped

No idea to blog about, thus I just share an enlightening and hilarous story with the title of

Will Power !

An old man lived alone in Minnesota. He wanted to spade his potato garden, but it was very hard work.

His only son, who would have helped him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned his situation.

Dear Son, I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won't be able to plant my potato garden this year.

I hate to miss doing the garden, because your mother always loved planting time. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot.If you were here, all my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me, if you weren't in prison.

Love, Dad

.........

Shortly, the old man received this telegram:

" For Heaven's sake, Dad,don't dig up the garden!! That's where I buried the GUNS!" At 4a.m.

The next morning,

A dozen FBI agents and local police officers showed up and dug up the entire garden without finding any guns.

Confused, the old man wrote another note to his son telling him what happened, and a asked him what to do next.

His son's reply was: "Go ahead and plant your potatoes, Dad. It's the best I could do for you from here ."

********

- Moral Of the Story

NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE IN THE WORLD,

IF YOU HAVE DECIDED TO DO SOMETHING DEEP FROM YOUR HEART, YOU CAN DO IT.

I'm plagued
0 bird(s) chirped

Occasionally sadness lingers in my mind... 6 years has past...

Eventhough I have tried my best to keep the past behind my mind and focus at the current life, but most of time I failed.

I tend to revisit the past when I facing something that is relevant to my past and I end up sulk.

It's my self destructive habit.

Can't deny it.

I should have thrown, forget and release the past into thin air but instead I remembered it clearly. Every things were kept in a box wrapped with many layers of newspaper and hide it underneath the cupboard. Eventhough it's not costly for now, but it was costly in few years ago. I wished to donate them to others but all has memories behind each of the things.

I tend to stroll down the memory lane as though flipping through day by day past photos. Few photos are colourful, the rest are dead black and white photos. I am used to looking at black and white photos of how my heart was being pierced with a sharp knife, how shocked am I and how I denied the fact. I tend to release anger by throwing books on the table (those are hard covers), and punching the cupboard but I don't feel pain on my fist (weird). Every night, tears soaked my pillow before I sleep and the next day, looking fine with others.

From that day onwards, I have gradually changed. Positive attitudes becomes more positive while negative attitudes becomes more negative. Not many friends noticed the transformation.

Life has moved on but I'm still plagued with the past sometimes. My eyes tend to wet for a while when I reminiscing the past. I'm easily depressed but I will look cool after a moment.

P/s : the newspaper wrapped box still remained in my cupboard for 6 years. I still don't have the guts to open it and throw the things away as all have memories behind it. I feel that I'm not respecting the past memories by donating and throwing them away. See, I'm still plagued with the past.

The Simpsons Movie
1 bird(s) chirped

Quote of the day
"Look at what your idea of success would be. The more that you take in external motivators, the more it reduces your ultimate satisfaction because it doesn't come from inside."
Chris Messina

I loved reading quotes for pleasure. It's just short and precise phrases and take few seconds to read and takes few minutes to ponder and takes few days, months, years to change... :) Anyway, I just share it in my blog.

THE SIMPSONS IN MOVIE!!!

Forget about watching it in cinema. Just bought dvd last weekend at a reasonable package offer. :) wahaha....

I loved the stupidity of the simpsons cartoon...

The Wooden Bowl
0 bird(s) chirped

Quote of the day
"The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits. "
Albert Einstein

It's been 2 weeks I'm away from the blogging world... ok, here is one of the famous motivation article...

I guess some of you remembered the Petronas TV ad of the tale of the Wooden Bowl
few years ago, tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now.

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law,and four-year old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered.

The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor.
When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.
The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess.

'We must do something about father,' said the son. 'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.'

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.

There!

Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two; his food was served in a wooden bowl!

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometime he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food!

The four-year-old watched it all in silence. One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly,
'What are you making?'

Just as sweetly, the boy responded, 'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up.' The four-year-old smiled and went back to work. The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.

That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.

For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the
family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any
longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things: a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

I've learned that, regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they are gone from your life.

I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as making a life

I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back.

I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you.
But if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you.

I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.

I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.

I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone. People love that human touch, holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.

I've learned that I still have a lot to learn!

New Outlook
1 bird(s) chirped

Sudden feeling of changing the template... My original one was kind of messy and cheeky. I have spent alot of time (about half a day) searching, searching and searching until I found the 'perfect' one that suits my current mood...

My current background theme reflects of my soul searching, tranquility, inner peace and feeling of contentment... Simplicity and elegance would be the best description for the theme...

Be like the bluebird who is never blue for he knows what singing can do. The quote says it all... I don't know how to explain the quote in my own words...

Will edit the links later...
